What does mesh count mean?
Mesh count (or "mesh count") refers to the number of openings per linear inch in a stainless steel mesh. It directly determines the pore size (aperture) and filtration accuracy - higher mesh counts mean smaller pores and finer filtration. For example:
Low mesh (≤20 mesh): Ideal for heavy-duty screening, ventilation, or structural reinforcement.
Medium mesh (20-100 mesh): Widely used in food processing (such as flour screening), chemical filtration, and aggregate grading.
High mesh (≥100 mesh): Ultra-fine pore size, designed for critical applications such as pharmaceutical filtration, microelectronics, or insect screens.
Key applications by mesh count:
<20 mesh: Mining screening, construction scaffolding, coarse particle separation.
20-100 mesh: Industrial screening (powders, granules), water treatment, and HVAC systems.
>100 mesh: Precision liquid filtration (pharmaceuticals, coatings), laboratory-grade particle analysis, and fine dust control.
Why is the number of meshes important?
Filtration efficiency: A higher mesh size will block smaller particles, but may reduce flow rate.
Strength and precision: The lower the mesh size, the higher the durability; finer mesh size requires finer wire (such as 200 mesh 0.05mm wire).
Material compatibility: High mesh size (such as 316L stainless steel) performs well in corrosive environments.
Product application
By using the current high-precision wire mesh, it is expected to have higher advantages in precision, lifespan, size, cost, etc., to meet the needs of different industries for high-strength, high corrosion resistance, and high-precision metal based composite materials, which are applied in aerospace, semiconductor electronic devices, VC heat plates, biomedicine, medical equipment, electrical equipment, paper making, energy, high-precision filtration and screening, etc.
